How is everyone doing?
I have been taking some time to myself these past days, recovering from a long season and spending time with my family – my favourite thing in the world!
I went home to Prague for a week after Champs and then I took my parents and best friend to Monaco and we enjoyed four days there. We went to the beach, saw the museums and the sites and ate some good seafood.
For the past two days, I have been running around organising a lot of things and packing because I will be away a long time. Unfortunately I am not coming back home to the Czech Republic until after Australia so I had to say goodbye to my parents today, which was the hard part.
On Wednesday I am going to London for a few days before I fly to the British Virgin Islands for the Necker Cup – I am really excited to go there, spend some time in a beautiful place and play tennis for a good cause.
My pre-season this year is going to be in Florida for the first time. I am looking forward to doing something different and will try to prepare in the best way possible. My fitness trainer Marek is coming, and David too, so there will be a lot of new things for me. The end of the season showed me that I am in the good way so I just want to keep working hard and feeling positive.
It was strange for me last week not to have the Fed Cup final on my schedule after the past two years. I missed it, but it was also nice to have an extra week to relax. I know Italy won but I heard that the top Russian players didn’t play so that was a shame for the event.
I promise to write again and let you know how the pre-season training is going.
See you soon,
