No.3 seed Petra Kvitova rallied from a set down to defeat Anastasija Sevastova and reach the semifinals of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. Petra beat the Latvian No.1 2-6, 6-2, 6-3.
Playing Sevastova for the first time since 2011, where she also rallied from a set down to seal victory, Kvitova held off a late charge from the No.7 seed, who got back on serve late in the third set after trailing 4-1.
With the win, Kvitova reaches the semifinals in Stuttgart for the third time in her career, and first since 2016.
The Czech has never reached the final at the Porsche Arena, despite twice appearing in the semifinals. On her tournament debut in 2012, she also reached the final four, before losing to Maria Sharapova.
