Fed Cup: Strycova, Siniakova put Czechs ahead over USA

The Czech Republic got off to a perfect start at the 2018 Fed Cup final in Prague, claiming both rubbers after dramatic victories by Barbora Strycova and Katerina Siniakova to close out the day with a 2-0 lead.

Playing in her final Fed Cup for the Czech Republic, Strycova put on an epic performance to defeat American debutante Sofia Kenin, coming back from a set down to win  6-7(5), 6-1, 6-4.

In the second rubber, Siniakova put the hosts ahead to a commanding 2-0 lead after edging past Alison Riske, 6-3, 7-6(2) and claiming the second singles win of her Fed Cup career.
